Evaluation Finished
GCSE Media Studies Evaluation
The Final Production met its aims and purpose because it succeeded in its aims and purpose of reviewing a game in a fully functional animation that the viewer can understand. The ways it succeeded is it brought over the point of watching the animation as though the voice lines brought over the point that you are listening to someone reviewing a video game, It also succeeded in giving my point of view on the game to the viewer clearly and without words that could confuse the reader.
I have used the appropriate generic conventions such as movement, music, the editing was hard as I made the slides on Photoshop and then compiled them in Movie maker. After I did that, I recorded the voice lines from my script at home and add them to the finished compiled animation without the voice over to make a finished version with a voice over. This made a full animation that was ready to post onto YouTube.
I don't think I used any representations as my animation didn't add any cultural representations. I think this because I used generic characters that don't have a main cultural representation when you look at them. Even the images of the main character shows no humanity or cultural representation as the main character is a robot.
I used narrative to construct the story line as my storyboard was built to show the story line or order of the slides in the finished animation. I used the script to build the storyboard as I did the script before the story line. To build my script, I used the review I had written to give myself a idea of what I wanted to say in the animation. To this extant, I have taken direct quotes from the final review I writ. I also used example reviews taken from IGN and Metro Gaming and a generic video game review generator. This shaped the way that I writ the review.
My chosen audience is teenagers that are into video games. On my questionnaire, my results I got was that my target audience wanted the animation and review to be about the game that I chose. I knew that my chosen audience would receive the idea well because I am one of my chosen audience and using that expertise, I could actually know what kind of game genre I would use to relate to my chosen audience.
Some of the issues I had when I made the animation was the equipment wasn't working so on some lessons I couldn't do the development of the animation. I also got distracted during lessons due to me messing around this meant that some lessons were spent messing on the internet and games. The people I sat near also gave me some issues as while I would be doing work, they could distract me. The problem could have been sorted out but I didn't move so that problem was my fault.
